Bustamite

Bustamite crystallizes in tabular forms and masses. It has gently rounded edges that have been formed by activity deep within the Earth. This stone has a warm raspberry red tone and can also have accents of inky black Manganese streaks. 

It is easy to confuse Bustamite with Rhodonite, as they have a similar appearance. Some rare specimens exhibit beautiful chatoyancy (the cat's eye effect).

This crystal was initially discovered in the state of New Jersey in the USA. For a while, it remained predominantly unnoticed. But when fresh deposits were uncovered in South Africa, this powerful crystal was finally brought into mainstream consciousness.
